ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY


It is our company policy to offer 'greener' alternatives for craftsmen and craftswomen who are concerned about the environment. Due to our personal concern for our environment we try to offer like-minded people, products that are more ecologically sound than their standard counterparts. We source products from reputable 'green' suppliers wherever possible and take care to research the credentials of the paper etc. we use. Most of the papers we use are 100% recycled and the majority contain a large proportion of post-consumer waste (ie old brochures, print-outs, correspondence etc.). We believe this to be a positive step to help conserve the Earth's natural resources and reduce the amount of waste which otherwise goes to landfill. Recycling paper can also reduce the energy required in production by up to 50% with similar effects on pollution and carbon dioxide emissions. Recycling also reduces water use by up to 50% and involves fewer chemical processes. the recycling paper business is led by consumer demand so the more we use, the more the mills will produce, to the benefit of everyone !

CUSTOMER PRIVACY


It is our policy, not to pass on any customer details to third parties or to other companies. Whenever necessary, we may (with your permission) put a carrier in touch with you to organize suitable delivery arrangements.

TRADING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.


1) We accept payment by Credit or Debit Cards - Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Electron or Solo. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet. (Where payment details are sent through the post or by Fax etc. we reserve the right to adjust credit card amounts, without asking permission first, due to calculation errors, stock deletions etc.)

Prices include VAT. A receipt will be sent on all orders.

2) On-line prices are updated regularly. Prices may be altered without notice if circumstances arise. Please refer to online site for up to date pricing or latest discounts.

3) Delivery is to UK only.
Minimum value of on-line orders inc. delivery charge = £10. (Minimum processing value of orders paid by Credit/debit cards etc. is £10.00 inclusive of carriage and VAT ie. a minimum of £6.50 worth of goods.)

Carriage on orders £6.50 to £10.00 = £4.26,
Carriage on orders above £10.00 = £5.50 Mainland.
Carriage to Highlands and Islands including NI + IOM = £8.00.
Sorry we can no longer accept export orders.

PLEASE NOTE: Most deliveries now require a signature upon receipt of order. If there is
no-one in to receive your order it should be attempted once more before leaving a card
and being returned to depot. To avoid this we are happy for you to specify an alternative
delivery address where someone will be available during the day to sign for your parcel.
(Work address, neighbour etc.)
Should no-one be in when a delivery is attempted you will need to contact the carrier to
arrange for re-delivery or to collect the item yourself from the depot. We can not accept
any responsibility for any delay or cost this may entail, so please make use of our
alternative delivery address service when filling in the on-line order form.

4) Orders will be dispatched A.S.A.P. (on average 3-5days) subject to stock availability, please allow extra time during October to December, and allow 10 days before enquiring.
Obviously stock shortages do occur from time to time so we ask for a daytime telephone number. This is only used to notify you if there are any problems with your order or if delays are expected. Substitutes will not normally be sent unless requested, although we reserve the right to make minor adjustments to avoid long delays in processing an order. If a colour is not specified white will be sent.
Please note: If mixed styles or colours of cards etc. are specified a minimum of 5 of each of our popular styles/colours will be provided at our discretion and subject to stock availability.

5) All sizes are approximate and can vary up to 2 mm in either dimension.

6) Please conduct your own tests on products before placing orders, as we cannot guarantee the suitability of our products for any specific purposes. Most items are now available singularly or in trial packs for this purpose.

7) We must be notified of faulty or damaged goods within 7 days of receipt to enable us to replace goods or provide a credit.

8) We offer a money back guarantee on all goods. We are happy to exchange or credit for any goods you are not satisfied with (less postage), if you return them in resaleable condition [cards not folded]. Returns must be adequately packaged, preferably in a carton, as we cannot credit for any goods damaged while being returned.

9) For orders sent via post of fax.
Please remember to sign and date postal & fax orders to ensure prompt dispatch. (For credit card payment, the cardholders full details, including the card holders signature, must be given before we can start to process your order!)

10) If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. We will use your contact details to inform you of any long delays or discontinued items. Where goods are required urgently we are happy to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

11) We reserve the right to adjust orders due to shortfalls in amount paid or to mistakes made when filling in the order form.

12) For on-line orders please remember to to make sure that you fill in your invoice address correctly - for credit / debit card transactions this must be the 'card holders' address. You can then choose to have an alternative delivery address. Please ensure that this address and especially the postcode is input correctly. This will be your address label and is the only means we have to make sure your order gets safely to you and not lost on route. It has happened!
Please note: we cannot accept claims for loss or delay if any of your address/contact details, especially the postcode, is missing or incorrect.

13) Placing an order with us implies acceptance of our terms and conditions.

POSTAL INFORMATION


POSTAL CHARGES: -
Goods are sent by either Parcelforce 48 or First class post.
Carriage on orders £6.50 to £10.00 = £4.26,
Carriage on orders above £10.00 = £5.50 Mainland.

EXPORT ORDERS (Inc. CHANNEL ISLES & BFPO) Please note: due to recent large price increases and changes to postal services for export orders, it is no longer possible for us to deliver orders over-seas including BFPO. In some cases carriage now exceeds the value of the goods.
For orders to the Channel Isles there is a minimum order of £25.00 (before postage) payment by credit card or by cheque in £ Sterling please. Payment for postage is charged at cost. Heavy items will be more, light items be less. (Don't buy our off cuts, as they increase postal charges in excess of their value!) If you have access to a Fax you can fax your order to us and we will estimate the carriage cost and Fax it back. Should there be a shortfall in your payment we will adjust the order accordingly. The purchaser is responsible for any tax/import duty etc. where applicable.

COLOUR VARIATIONS Please note that all recycled materials are liable to slight colour variations due to the differences in the "raw" materials from one batch to the next. Another result of recycling paper is the naturally flecked appearance of the board. For most purposes this is hardly noticeable and in some cases desirable proof that the board is recycled. Please check suitability to your requirements before placing an order. Very infrequently larger flecks may get through which can detract from the look of the card. (Not often as the board is checked for major faults). If this does happen we will be glad to replace individual cards provided they are returned in original condition and preferably for inclusion with an order.

FINALLY At the Cutting Edge we try to offer as environmentally sound a product range as possible. We source our board from reputable 'green' suppliers and try to use the most environmental grade suitable for each product [many items are made from 100% recycled paper of which 80% was post consumer waste]. It is also our company policy to try to reuse & recycle wherever possible. We reuse the packaging materials from our suppliers, & shred incoming junk mail to make packaging for your orders [this shredded paper can be recycled! please do.]. Cartons used are either once used or end of run and naturally all our sales literature is printed on 100% recycled paper, we even 'recycle' the postage stamps on your letters to give to local charities for fund raising.

ENERGY : We now source all our energy requirements from 100% renewable electricity at Good Energy. (Produced from Wind turbines, solar panels, hydro stations, and sustainable biomass - No Nuclear - No fossil fuels). To find out more see www.goodenergy.co.uk

FSC certification: Most of our papers / card / envelopes are FSC certified (or better) but due to way the FSC certification works we are not allowed to show this on the web site. The chain of custody system works OK for bulk paper supplies we buy but as we then break this down into packs of 10 sheets of paper we don't think it's worth the time and effort and cost to maintain the chain of custody . Do you really need that extra piece of paper? So in the end it comes down to trust and honesty - that's the best we can offer.
